Asian longhorned tick confirmed in IL



An invasive tick has been discovered in Illinois.


The Asian Longhorned tick was discovered April 12 during routine surveillance in the Morgan County area.


Additional surveillance revealed two additional Asian Longhorned ticks which can carry tick-borne diseases that have been know to affect cattle.


Illinois is the 20th state to discover the species.
