Extension to offer summer program

The University of Illinois Extension Office in McLean County is thrilled to announce Energy & Our Environment, a captivating three-day summer program tailored for ages 9 to 13, focused on the fascinating realms of renewable energy and environmental conservation.

This immersive experience will take place on June 4, June 11, and June 18 from 9 a.m. to noon at the McLean Extension Office, offering an enriching exploration of topics including wind energy and natural habitats, solar energy and photosynthesis, and hydroelectric energy and water quality.

With a mission to nurture a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness between renewable energy and the environment, this program is designed to inspire a new generation of eco-conscious leaders. Through engaging activities and captivating demonstrations, participants will embark on an enlightening journey to discover the pivotal role they can play in caring for our Earth.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to enroll their children in this transformative program, offering them the opportunity to connect with like-minded peers, engage with passionate instructors, and develop a profound sense of environmental responsibility.  Registration will close May 28, so be sure to sign up now!  There is a $30 registration fee for the first child in a family and $15 for additional children in a family.
