Bullard overwhelmed with honor
PONTIAC – Joan Bullard is still feels a little overwhelmed about receiving the Pontiac Area Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year award.
“That sounds crazy, but I am,” Bullard told The Central Illinois Farm Network last week.
Bullard thanks Amy Duffy for nominating her for the honor and her family, friends and business partners. Bullard loves what she does and works hard at it. She has been in real estate since 2000 operating Joan Bullard Realty.
“This is kind of the icing on the cake I guess. I feel very good about it and I certainly am humbled by it.”
Bullard started out in the food business years ago running country clubs before she and her late husband, Bob, started a small electronics factory in Fairbury. They spent 15 years running the business before Bob got sick and they sold it. Bullard wanted something to keep her busy so she went into real estate.
“I love it,” Bullard admits. “It’s probably the best job I ever had because I get to meet so many people and they become lifetime friends.”
The Pontiac Area Chamber of Commerce will honor Bullard along with this year’s Agribusiness Persons of the Year winners Parker Bane and Jesse Faber on March 7 at the Pontiac Elks Lodge during the annual chamber banquet. To RSVP for the event, contact the office.
