Land Values webinar set for Thursday

A free webinar on Farmland Values in Illinois has been scheduled for Aug. 27 as part of the University of Illinois’ farmdoc Webinar Series according to Luke Worrell, AFM, Worrell Land Services, Jacksonville, IL.

Worrell serves as overall chair for the annual Farmland Values and Lease Trends Program sponsored by the Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers.

The webinar, “Rents and Prices Outlook: Results from a Mid-Year Survey Conducted by the Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers,” will be held at  11 a.m. on Thursday, August 27 and is expected to last for one hour.

Worrell says, “This is a continuation of our annual Land Values Conference which is held each spring. For the past few years we have done a follow-up, mid-year snapshot survey focusing on farmland sales and cropland lease trends since the regular conference just to see what’s changed in the preceding six months. Traditionally we have done a news conference at the Farm Progress Show to announce the results, but determined that since the FPS is in Iowa this year, we might better be able to tell Illinois farmland owners what the survey tells us through this webinar.”

He adds: ”We will be discussing what the outlook is for farmland prices at the end of 2026.  Outlook for cash rents in 2027 will be presented. The survey also asked respondents about wind and solar leases, along with activity in data centers.  That information will be presented”
