Trade has been paralyzed by a massive ship which has been blocking the Suez Canal for much of the week.
Officials say it could take days or possibly weeks for removal. About 700,000 feet of sand needs to be removed to dislodge the ship which ran aground on Tuesday and resulted in other ships being stranded which were headed to various ports around the globe.
The Suez Canal is arguably the world’s most important waterway. Work to re-float the massive ship was halted until Thursday morning in Egypt. Dredgers were still attempting to loosen the vessel before trying to pull it out.
