Dedication on display at fair

(Participants prepare for the McLean Co. Fair poultry show Thursday morning)

Anna Gordon has always been around horses so it is only fitting that is one of her projects at this year’s McLean County Fair in Bloomington.

“I’ve been riding since before I could walk,” Gordon, of the Big Dreamers 4-H Club, told The Central Illinois Farm Network Thursday morning.

Gordon did halter and showmanship in the morning and has horsemanship, trail and speed events to participate in.

“They do multiple different classes each day so that way there’s no break and we are always doing something,” notes Gordon.

While her family owns horses, Gordon also shows poultry and goats.

Claire Seifert of the Linden Lead ‘Em Club does general projects such as photography, vegetable gardening and food preservation. She made a jam and jelly for the fair.

“I made strawberry rhubarb jam then a cherry jelly. It’s very time consuming trying to get it to the right temperature and the lids to seal.”
