Buckley, Olson make county proud

McLean County was well represented at this week’s Illinois Farm Bureau annual meeting in Chicago.

Katie Buckley of LeRoy received the 2019 Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom Teacher of the Year honor. She is a secondary special education teacher and STEM instructor for the LeRoy Community Unit School District 2. Buckley works with students of various ages on agriculture and STEM education efforts.

John Olson, also from McLean County, was presented the 2019 Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom Volunteer of the Year award. Other recipients of this honor include Alvera Bardon and Barbara Bockhause, both from Adams County.
