Drone interest still there

Several years after they first became popular, interest remains for drones in agriculture.

Randy Aberle of Flying Ag had a busy summer – selling drones to farmers all the way into September. He was among the many exhibitors last month at the Greater Peoria Farm Show.

“We are talking about what we can do with drones and drone deploy and just kind of showing guys what other people are using drones for,” Aberle explained.

Aberle farms in Ford County and says harvest went smoothly around Melvin this year.

“I guess we were fortunate. We didn’t have any late beans and the corn dried down so fast you couldn’t stay ahead of it.”

Yields weren’t bad either, according to Aberle.
