EUREKA – The Peoria Journal Star newspaper reports no one was injured after a grain dryer explosion at Grainland Cooperative near Eureka Monday.
Deputies from the Woodford County Sheriff’s Department were called to the scene after 6 a.m. The elevator’s general manager was reportedly notified of the incident about the same time police responded. Fire departments from Eureka-Goodfield, Roanoke, Germantown Hills and Washington assisted at the scene along with police from Eureka and the county.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation and a damage amount is not known. Officials say no one was working at the elevator at the time and the facility was closed on Monday.
