Good year for Dwight FFA

DWIGHT – This year’s Dwight FFA chapter has an active officer team, participating in many community and section events.

“They’re definitely a dedicated group that want to be involved in anything they can and get as many experiences as possible,” explains advisor Jodi Minnaert.

Dwight has made some community connections this year. Students visited M&S Dairy near Pontiac in April for a Section 10 dairy judging event. Minnaert says the farmers often learn along with the kids.

“It’s always great to see the kids interact, learn something and take away something from these field trip days,” Minnaert said after the visit to M&S Dairy.

The members feel it has been a great year for trying new things and meeting new people.

“I feel the more events you go to, the more you recognize other people. It’s nice to see familiar faces at different events,” said Dwight FFA President Karah Colebank.

A Dwight FFA banquet honoring students for their accomplishments was held last month.
