Field update with Matt Boucher

DWIGHT – Farmers like Matt Boucher in northern Livingston County have been lucky so far this season with decent rainfall.

“You don’t have to go very far away where that rainfall has dropped off or there have been some drier conditions,” Boucher explains.

Boucher expects everything to be okay heading into the fall, despite the recent heat wave in Central Illinois. We have avoided temperatures reaching 100 and Boucher says corn typically likes humid conditions. Boucher is spraying fungicide on crops this summer.

“We are going to try to protect as much of that corn yield out there as we can.”

In addition to farming, Boucher sells seed, cover crops and precision ag equipment. He also works with drone technology and aerial imaging.
