STREATOR – A University of Illinois student studying agricultural leadership education is experiencing a summer of ag thanks to the Livingston County Farm Bureau.

Streator native Kassidy Kimpling is the LCFB summer intern. She has visited Kilgus Farmstead near Fairbury a couple of times already and toured the Blunier Hog Farm near Forrest recently.

“A few weeks ago, we came to give fourth graders from Chicago a tour. That was a lot of fun,” Kimpling said.

Kimpling has been assisting the Farm Bureau with social media efforts and is buy planning for the Livingston County Ag Fair at Pontiac which is right around the corner.

“I’ll help work a booth at the fair inside one of the buildings where we auction things for a fundraiser that later goes towards scholarships.”

In addition to her internship position this summer, Kimpling is also taking a college chemistry course.
