Perdue chosen for ag secretary
Former Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue has been nominated for the post of USDA Secretary by Donald Trump.
Various farm groups and individuals involved in the industry were praising the announcement on Thursday. In a statement, Illinois Farm Bureau President Richard Guebert, Jr. said IFB was “relieved” that Trump finally named an ag secretary and the group hopes for a quick confirmation by the U.S. Senate.
The National Grain and Feed Association referred to Perdue as an outstanding choice for ag secretary.
