$100K donated to ag groups


NORMAL – A $100,000 gift will benefit nearly 118 groups dedicated to the future of Illinois agriculture and rural communities.

To capstone the 100 year anniversary of the Farm Credit System, the 1st Farm Credit Services Board of Directors made the donation to groups making a difference in their communities.

“Giving back to the communities that have made the past 100 years possible for us was an important part of our celebration,” said Gary J. Ash, president/CEO of 1st Farm Credit Services. “We believe that every investment we can make into the future is critical to our current and future generation of clients and those committed to agriculture and rural Illinois.”

The Farm Credit System celebrated its 100 year anniversary on July 17, 2016. The system supports rural communities and agriculture with reliable, consistent credit and financial services, today and tomorrow. 1st Farm Credit Services is one of 78 associations in the system.

1st Farm Credit Services team members worked together to select groups in their communities to receive the gifts.

Each selected organization contributes to the future of Illinois agriculture and rural America in its own unique way, from helping children who will become the next generation of farmers, to making sure people have access to nutritious meals.
