Watershed tour returns in July
The 2016 Indian Creek Watershed Tour takes place July 13 once again based in Fairbury.
Registration begins at 3 p.m. with the tour departing from the First Baptist Church at 3:30. Two tours will be given in the afternoon before returning to the church for an evening meal and additional presentations.
Hons Kok, a regionally known soil health and cover crops expert, will be on hand to share his knowledge in the field. He will explore additional technology available to help make nitrogen decisions and improve on-farm economics. A presentation on the Illinois Precision Conservation Initiative will also be given.
There is no cost to attend the summer field tour, however those wanting to attend should register with the Livingston County Soil and Water Conservation District by calling 815-844-6127, extension 3 or by contacting Sue Tull at CTIC: 765-494-9555.
