USDA Illinois numbers released

USDA on Monday released the March 31 Prospective Plantings and Grain Stocks reports for Illinois.
Illinois Prospective Plantings:
Corn growers intend to plant 11.1 million acres in 2025, up 3 percent from 2024. Soybean planted area is expected to total 10.5 million acres, down 3 percent from the previous year. Winter wheat area seeded last fall is estimated at 780,000 acres, up 1 percent from the previous year. Area planted to oats is expected to total 60,000 acres, up 20 percent from 2024. Producers intend to harvest 430,000 acres of all hay in 2025, down 3 percent from last year.
Illinois Grain Stocks:
Corn stocks in all positions on March 1, 2025 totaled 1.38 billion bushels, down 7 percent from March 1, 2024.
On-farm stocks totaled 600 million bushels, while off-farm stocks totaled 780 million bushels. The December 2024 - February 2025 indicated disappearance is 643 million bushels. Soybean stocks in all positions on March 1, 2025 totaled 337 million bushels, up 1 percent from March 1, 2024. On-farm stocks totaled 140 million bushels, while off-farm stocks totaled 197 million bushels. The December 2024 - February 2025 indicated disappearance is 208 million bushels.
All wheat stocks in all positions on March 1, 2025 totaled 24.0 million bushels, down 22 percent from March 1, 2024. On-farm stocks totaled 2.35 million bushels, while off-farm stocks totaled 21.7 million bushels. The December 2024 - February 2025 indicated disappearance is 13.3 million bushels.
