Payne scholarships presented

Two local scholarships were recently presented through the Hank O. Payne Scholarship Foundation.

Tucker Maupin and Peyton Cramer were the two selected to receive the award. Maupin, of Cooksville and a graduate of Ridgeview High School, is working full-time as an electrician apprentice. He was awarded $2,500 to use toward continued education. Cramer, from Saunemin and a graduate of Pontiac Township High School, is a full-time student at Illinois State and also plays football for the Redbirds. He plans to work in agriculture after completing school and continues to work on the farm during his days off.

Hank O. Payne had a huge heart for family and friends and was hard working and gentle. The family now has the chance to carry on Payne’s legacy by awarding these scholarships. The Hank O. Payne Foundation has planned a 5K Race/ 1 mile Fun Walk and golf outing again.

Donations are accepted year round and can be made online: https://www.paypal.me/HankOPayneFoundation.
