Over 52,000 deer harvested

During the first weekend of the Illinois firearm deer season last week, hunters harvested over 52,000 deer.

This is up over last year’s total during the same time period when hunters took almost 49,000 deer.

The state’s firearm deer season concludes Dec. 1-5.
