Outdoor power, lighting popular at show
PEORIA – An electric neighborhood vehicle seemed to be the life of the party during last week’s Greater Peoria Farm Show at the Peoria Civic Center.
A steady stream of show attendees walked past a display from the Intimidator Brands, which featured the eNVy vehicle.
“It has been out for three years now and a lot of towns now are allowing these,” explained Rich Kuse, territory sales manager for Intimidator, covering Illinois and Wisconsin.
The small vehicle has turn signals, brake lights, and programmable acceleration in case younger drivers are operating it.
Intimidator also had the Spartan mower on display where visitors could actually operate it and drive it around. Last year was the first year for the ride and drive experience and Kuse was pleased with it.
“It was a big success.”
Those participating in the Spartan mower experience had a chance to register to win a mower. The fancy seats and chrome exhaust tips make the machines stand out.
“We are actually the fastest growing outdoor power equipment company in history,” added Kuse.

A Greater Peoria Farm Show exhibit from Edison Lighting Supply LLC appeared to light up the room – or at least the nearby exhibits. Edison offers anything from a small five watt all the way up to a 20-watt flood light and everything in between for offices, warehouses and farm shops.
“You’ll save a lot of energy going to LED,” noted Edison’s Jeff Nelson. “They might be eligible for a rebate from their electrical utility.”
Many of the booth spaces around Edison Lighting Supply didn’t have to worry about supplemental lighting as their lights were plenty bright.
“I’ve got dusk to dawn yard lights, eight-foot tubes, four-foot tubes and all of our stuff is guaranteed for a minimum of five years,” said Nelson.
According to Nelson, the newer lighting lasts longer and is considerably brighter than the older lights.
With sales representatives scattered all across the country, Edison Lighting Supply is a nationwide company that has been in business for eight years now.
“I’ve been in lighting for 16 years and my associate, Roger, has been in it 16 years also,” concluded Nelson.
