National Co-op Month is being celebrated during October.
The annual celebration brings together more than 30,000 cooperatives across the U.S., each reflecting on the unique qualities that set cooperatives apart from other business models out there.
Cooperatives often support local economic development projects, youth programs, educational grants, scholarships, charitable giving and other programs which make our communities better places to live. They also prioritize member satisfaction.
Members have a voice in the co-op business as profits are returned to members through patronage dividends or reinvested into infrastructure improvements.
