Livestock grants available

The Illinois Department of Agriculture has announced $5 million in business recovery grants for the state's livestock industry.
Those eligible to receive the grants include livestock producers along with small meat and poultry plants impacted by COVID-19. The application period runs through the end of October. Funding is part of the state's coronavirus relief initiative known as the Business Interruption Grants program which uses federal CARES Act money in targeted disbursements for Illinois industries.
Livestock involved firmed can access funds through three different Illinois Department of Agriculture programs. Online applications are available at apps.agr.illinois.gov/AGR-CARES/. Anyone with questions should e-mail agr.grants@illinois.gov.
