Illinois stocks, small grains info
The following information was released Thursday by USDA-NASS.
Illinois Grain Stocks:
Old crop corn stocks in all positions on September 1, 2021 totaled 128 million bushels, down 49 percent from September 1, 2020. On-farm stocks totaled 44.0 million bushels, while off-farm stocks totaled 83.8 million bushels. The June - August 2021 indicated disappearance is 484 million bushels.
Old crop soybean stocks in all positions on September 1, 2021 totaled 36.2 million bushels, down 45 percent from September 1, 2020. On-farm stocks totaled 10.0 million bushels, while off-farm stocks totaled 26.2 million bushels.
The June - August 2021 indicated disappearance is 86.3 million bushels. All wheat stocks in all positions on September 1, 2021 totaled 41.9 million bushels, up 47 percent from September 1, 2020. On-farm stocks totaled 6.50 million bushels, while off-farm stocks totaled 35.4 million bushels. The June - August 2021 indicated disappearance is 16.8 million bushels.
Illinois Small Grains Summary:
Winter wheat: Harvested area in 2021 is estimated at 610,000 acres, up 17 percent from the previous year. The winter wheat yield is estimated at a record 79 bushels per acre, up 11 bushels from 2020. Production is estimated at 48.2 million bushels, up 36 percent from the previous year.
Oats: Harvested area in 2021, at 15,000 acres, is unchanged from the previous year. The oat yield is estimated at 83 bushels per acre, up 25 bushels from 2020. Production is estimated at 1.25 million bushels, up 43 percent from the previous year.
