Illinois native wins hot dog contest
This year’s champion in the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest is an Illinois native.
Patrick Bertoletti won the mustard belt during the annual competition after putting away 58 dogs and buns. The famous 4th of July Hot Dog Eating contest in Coney Island has become a big tradition.
Joey Chesnut, a 16-time champ, bowed out this year because of an endorsement deal with Impossible Foods. Chesnut’s record is 76 hot dogs.
Miki Sudo was once again the winner on the women’s side of the contest at 51 hot dogs which beats her own record. This was the tenth time Sudo has won the competition.
