Illinois grain stocks & acreage

The following information was released by USDA-NASS on Friday.
Illinois Grain Stocks:
Corn stocks in all positions on June 1, 2024 totaled 875 million bushels, up 44 percent from June 1, 2023. On-farm stocks totaled 445 million bushels, while off-farm stocks totaled 430 million bushels. The March - May 2024 indicated disappearance is 608 million bushels. Soybean stocks in all positions on June 1, 2024 totaled 159 million bushels, up 46 percent from June 1, 2023. On-farm stocks totaled 66.0 million bushels, while off-farm stocks totaled 92.6 million bushels.
The March - May 2024 indicated disappearance is 174 million bushels. Old crop all wheat stocks in all positions on June 1, 2024 totaled 13.9 million bushels, up 24 percent from June 1, 2023. On-farm stocks totaled 1.30 million bushels, while off-farm stocks totaled 12.6 million bushels. The March - May 2024 indicated disappearance is 16.9 million bushels
Illinois June Acreage:
Corn: Planted area, at 10.9 million acres, is down 3 percent from 2023. Harvested area for grain, at 10.75 million acres, is down 3 percent from last year.
Soybeans: Planted area, at 10.7 million acres, is up 3 percent from 2023. Harvested area, forecast at 10.65 million acres, is up 3 percent from the previous year.
Winter wheat: Planted area for 2024, estimated at 770,000 acres, is down 8 percent from the previous year. Area harvested for grain is forecast at 700,000 acres, down 10 percent from previous year.
Hay: Harvested area of all hay is expected to total 480,000 acres, up 17 percent from 2023. This total includes 220,000 acres of alfalfa and 260,000 acres of all other hay.
