Registration is now open for the Heartland Harvest 5K, to be held the last Sunday in October on the campus of Heartland Community College in Normal.

Runners, walkers, and families are invited to lace up their sneakers for the Heartland Harvest 5K, taking place on the college’s Main Campus on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 12:00 p.m.

The racing route begins at the Heartland Community College Fitness and Recreation Center, located at 1500 W. Raab Rd., Normal, IL 61761.

Children under 10 are invited to participate in a 1-Mile Fun Run, a safe, non-competitive event designed to inspire young runners to get active! The Fun Run will begin at 12:05 p.m. on race day. No dogs are allowed at either event.

Open to participants of all fitness levels, the Heartland Harvest 5K is a fun, community-centered event celebrating health, movement, and the vibrant fall season. This is a family-friendly race to promote fitness, fun, and fall festivities. Runners can expect a scenic route through campus.

Participants can register online at Heartland.edu/5K or on-site the day of the event (arrive early).

Awards will be given to top finishers in various age categories, and all participants will receive:

  • Chip timing for accurate race results

  • Race t-shirt (guaranteed only if registered by September 29)

  • Race day packet and sponsor swag

  • Age-group prizes

  • Race day packet pickup begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Fitness and Recreation Center

  • Same-day registration is available, but early registration is encouraged
