Harvest down to final stretch

Statewide, the average temperature was 53.5 degrees, 0.5 degrees above normal. Precipitation averaged 0.23 inches, 0.5 inches below normal. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 8 percent very short, 33 percent short, 57 percent adequate, and 2 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 10 percent very short, 46 percent short, 43 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus.
Corn harvested reached 70 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 67 percent. Soybeans harvested reached 80 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 71 percent.
Winter wheat planted reached 73 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 66 percent. Winter wheat emerged reached 36 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 34 percent.
