Grain elevators stay busy

CHENOA – Many think grain elevators are only busy in the fall but that’s not the case, especially this time of year.
Elevators such as Prairie Central Cooperative have been purchasing grain from farmers, moving grain and working behind the scenes in order to provide a positive experience for the customer which includes updated technology.
“Markets were up a lot earlier this week so it was moving along pretty good,” said Sara Casson, Prairie Central Co-op office coordinator, during the recent PC FFA Farm and Home Show.
Prairie Central Co-op was an exhibitor at the show in Forrest and gave visitors the chance to win gift cards, play trivia and guess the amount of corn kernels.
Anyone wishing to learn more about Prairie Central Co-op can visit the website and they have a customer e-portal for customers to access accounts and check bids.
“They can always call our office and we are happy to help them,” added Casson.
