A 1981 TW-30 Ford tractor gets a few stares when it is parked at a show or special event.
Prairie Central High School student Blaze Fehr, 17, proudly displayed the tractor during Friday’s FFA Day held outside of Dominy Library in Fairbury.
“It’s all original,” Fehr explained. “The thing was well taken care of by an old mentor of mine.”
The tractor belonged to Pontiac-area farmer Alan Schrof who bought it back in the early 1980s from his parents who owned a Ford dealership.
“That was his big tractor until he retired,” notes Fehr.
The rarely used tractor, which was entered in a tractor pull at one time, has 936 hours on it. Fehr refers to it as an old farm tractor which used to put on a show. He has taken it to events such as the Threshermen’s Reunion and Half Century of Progress.
“I enjoy bringing it out once in a while.”
Children attending Friday’s FFA Day in Fairbury seemed to enjoy seeing the tractor since it was the only blue one there.
