Farm group urges 'no' vote

The Illinois Farm Bureau and other groups are urging a “no” vote for the constitutional amendment on Tuesday’s election ballot.

IFB is calling for a defeat of the Progressive Tax listed as a proposed amendment of Section 3 of Article IX of the Illinois Constitution.

In a direct mail piece from IFB, the organization states rates will have to be increased on the middle class to keep up with spending in Springfield and the Progressive Tax would fund Illinois public pensions and pay for Springfield’s “old debts.”
