Enjoying the perks of early planting
GILMAN – As May approaches, a large number of growers have their soybeans in the ground already, realizing the advantages of early planting.
“Our modern day seed treatments allow for some early planting and I know guys have heard about some possible yield advantages with planting soybeans earlier,” explains Emily Vaughn, sales account manager for LG Seeds.
Some are just starting their planting season waiting for the weather to straighten out while others are close to being done out in the field.
LG is a national brand which brings unique products to the industry using a breeding program the company is very proud of. Each year, they have several new releases in the 105-112 day maturity in corn which is ideal for this area.
“We do offer conventional and traited corn so we have a variety of platforms there,” added Vaughn.
The company will offer three platforms of soybean technology next year.
Vaughn covers the east central Illinois counties of Ford, Iroquois, Kankakee and parts of Livingston. More information can be found online at www.lgseeds.com.
