December saw below normal precip.

Statewide, the average temperature was 30.0 degrees, in December. That’s 0.1 degrees above normal, according to information supplied by USDA-NASS this week.


Precipitation averaged 2.47 inches during the month which is 0.22 inches below normal. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 8 percent short, 82 percent adequate, and 10 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 6 percent very short, 23 percent short, 66 percent adequate, and 5 percent surplus.


Winter wheat condition was 1 percent poor, 31 percent fair, 57 percent good, and 11 percent excellent.
