Crop tour yields impressive results
The results are in and the Pro Farmer Crop Tour has come out with a national average corn yield of 181.1 bushels per acre and an average soybean yield of 54.9 bushels per acre.
The tour also revealed national corn bushels at 14.979 billion and soybeans at 4.740 billion.
In Illinois, the state’s corn yield projection is 204.1 bushels an acre – an increase of 5.4 percent from 2023’s crop tour.
Around 2,000 fields were scouted in Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio and South Dakota between August 20 and 22. The main goal of the tour is to provide accurate information from the growing season reflecting possible soybean and corn yields at both the regional and state levels.
