Conservation awards presented in Pontiac

The Livingston County Soil and Water Conservation District presented numerous awards during its 81st annual meeting last week in Pontiac.
Partners in conservation honors went to Missy Hoover, Woodland Elementary teacher; Flanagan State Bank; Gary Stork; Mark Yoder and Livingston County Farm Bureau's Promotion and Education Committee. The Conservation Farm Family Award was presented by Erschen Grain & Livestock.
The following directors were elected to the SWCD board: Gary Bressner, Tom Yoder and Lee Bunting.
Under new business, Chairman Bunting said they are thankful for the support of the county board and partnership with the Livingston County Farm Bureau.
"We have really good input from associate directors," noted Bunting.
Karen Jones was congratulated for here Administrator of the Year honor received at the recent Illinois Farm Bureau annual meeting from Illinois Ag in the Classroom.
Featured speaker at the annual meeting of the district was Luke Zwilling of the Illinois Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy. He is a Watershed Outreach Associate.
