PONTIAC – Some area high school ag departments benefited from “Ag Night on the Hardwood” courtesy of the Livingston County Farm Bureau and local COUNTRY Financial agents.

During Friday’s county rivalry game between Prairie Central and Pontiac, Adri Cottrell represented the Prairie Central FFA and won $250 for the chapter. Meanwhile, Zechariah Landstrom won $100 for the Pontiac FFA.

Random ag students were asked to come onto the court to make three baskets for money. Layups earned $50, free throws $75 and three-pointers earned $125. Shots were limited to 30 seconds.

Participating COUNTRY agents included Danny Schahrer in Fairbury, Joe Jones in Forrest and Marlon Eilts in Pontiac.

Another “Ag Night on the Hardwood” from the Livingston County Farm Bureau is planned for February 3 in Dwight.
