No pork patio days; contest launched
Pork Patio Days from the Illinois Pork Producers Association, originally planned for Aug. 14 and 21, has been canceled.
“With the state fairgrounds being located in Sangamon County, now an at-risk county listed on the IDPH website, we feel that it would be irresponsible of us to encourage a lunch crowd for our famous pork items,” said information released by IPPA.
There will instead be a giveaway on Facebook to provide one lucky winner with an entire case of chop-on-a-stick as a thank you for loving the industry’s products. Visit the Illinois Pork Producers Association on Facebook and comment with a favorite fair food item and share the post. A winner will be drawn Friday, Aug. 14 at noon.
The case includes 60 chops in a frozen case and the winner must be able to pick up the prize in Springfield from the IPPA office by Friday, Aug. 28.
