Reuters reports U.S. farmers will receive $15 billion in assistance amid the trade dispute with China.

The news service says President Trump on Monday claimed his administration was planning to provide the aid to help farmers impacted by Chinese tariffs. No details were provided on the exact type of aid package. Late last week, Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue was reportedly asked by the president to come up with a plan to help producers deal with the implications of the trade war.

Trump told members of the media that his team would help farmers “do well.” China announced plans for higher tariffs on various U.S. goods Monday.
