Recapping the 2018 season

CHENOA – A challenging fall and decent yields are good words to describe the 2018 growing season as we look back on a year many won’t forget.

Even though many farmers struggled to get fall work done such as anhydrous application and fall tillage, many experienced fairly good yields throughout the state.

“In the area here, yields were up and down,” said Dean Atkins of Atkins Seed Service, who admits prices could obviously be better.

Atkins was among those on hand at the recent Greater Peoria Farm Show assisting with the Precision Planting booth. Atkins says his business prides itself on using the products they sell and promote.

“We use these products, we work the bugs out and we know what to expect.”
