Bennett expresses support for FFA

FFA is an important part of agriculture and it should be, according to 106th district State Rep. Tom Bennett of Gibson City.

Bennett’s district is the third largest in the state and includes a large number of strong FFA programs from one end to the other.

“There are just a lot of good programs, faculty and support groups that help these programs be very successful,” Bennett told The Central Illinois Farm Network at last week’s Pontiac FFA auction.

FFA provides accountability and responsibility – something Bennett believes should be instilled in our kids.

“If more kids and more families were involved with FFA programs, I truly believe we would not have some of the problems we have in the state today,” Bennett added.

Events in Bennett’s 106th district of Central Illinois included FFA auctions at Iroquois West and Pontiac last weekend and the GCMS scholarship auction this week.
