CHAMPAIGN – A company which examines field health utilizing the latest technology has been named one of the top seven ag startups to watch in 2018.

“We are working to continue to improve our product to help our users more in this coming season,” said Scott Clanin, brand and marketing manager for IntelinAir of Champaign.

The company uses manned aircraft to fly over fields 13 times during the season from pre-plant to harvest. Clanin says the company’s resolution is unlike any other on the market now.

“In 2017, we had 15 centimeter resolution per pixel and for 2018, we are improving that going to 10 centimeter resolution which is extremely good.”

Users receive an e-mail after each flight which ranks fields by health score. This allows growers to know where to take action when they wake up each morning.

“Our system can detect a variety of different issues with emergence, nutrient deficiencies, weed infestation and more,” Clanin added.

The IntelinAir product Ag MRI works with the John Deere operations center. Users will find functionality between the programs which allow the uploading of field boundaries.

“We just unveiled some new features within that for our users and our John Deere dealerships.”
