Specialty crop conference underway

The Illinois Specialty Crops, Agritourism and Organic Conference is underway through Friday (Jan. 12) at the Crowne Plaza in Springfield.

The program includes the resources needed to grow your specialty crop business and profits. Workshops are planned on high tunnels, social media and marketing, growing pumpkins and food safety. Other discussion topics include fruits, vegetables, herbs, organic production and business management.

Conference highlights include the 60-booth trade show, banquet, annual cider contest and farmer's market vendor bootcamp.
