First aid class to be offered

With a full class just completing in January, the Livingston County Farm Bureau is working with Southeast Livingston County Ambulance Service (SELCAS ) paramedics to host a second CPR and 1st Aid course just for farmers.

“Farming can be an incredibly dangerous occupation. In the case that an accident does happen, farmers need to know how to handle the situation until help can arrive,” Jenna Kilgus, Promotions and Education Committee Chair states.

SELCAS paramedics will be teaching this course to any interested Farm Bureau member at no charge on Tuesday, March 7. We will begin at 5:30 pm with a light dinner. The course will start at 6 pm and go until 8:00 pm. Each member will also go home with a basic 1st Aid kit to have in their equipment.

They will be at the SELCAS building at 310 W Locust St, Fairbury, IL 61739. Parking will be at Culkins corner on the south side of the building.

Seating for the training is limited, so please call the Livingston County Farm Bureau to register at 815-842-1103 or email livcfb@gmail.com.
