Harry and Dee McCune of McCune Family Farms north of Sheffield, Ill., will hold an open house for their new pig barn Nov. 29, from 4:30 to 8 p.m.

Coordinated by the Illinois Livestock Development Group (ILDG), the open house is open to the public, includes a tour of their 2,400-head wean-to-finish pig barn, and free pork chop sandwiches. The farm is located at 6158 County Rd 2100 N, Sheffield, Ill., in western Bureau County.

Feeding pigs in each barn like this uses more than 340,000 pounds of soybean meal a year. The ISA checkoff program supports the ILDG. For more information, contact Lindsey Henson at lhenson@wideopenthinking.com.
