Statewide, the average temperature during December was 39.6 degrees, 9.8 degrees above normal for the month.

Precipitation averaged 2.69 inches, 0.01 inches above normal. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 2 percent very short, 15 percent short, 53 percent adequate, and 30 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 5 percent very short, 11 percent short, 63 percent adequate, and 21 percent surplus.

Winter wheat condition was 3 percent very poor, 7 percent poor, 15 percent fair, 67 percent good, and 8 percent excellent.
