Schott passionate about steam engines

PONTIAC – A man with a passion for maintaining and operating steam engines is being remembered for his efforts at the Central States Threshermen’s Reunion in Pontiac.
David Schott, the man who rebuilt and brought back to life the small steam engine known as “Sparky” for the Pontiac Lions Club, passed away last Saturday. Schott also organized and taught an annual steam school to reach younger folks.
Schott was in several parades over the years and also enjoyed showing horses. Schott was also involved with the Pontiac Moose Lodge, Pontiac Lions Club and Leland Lions Club. He was a member of the United Methodist Churces in Odell, Leland, Dwight and Pontiac.
