Is 2019 turning around?

2019 is not turning out to be the year of devastation some may have thought just a month or six weeks ago.

With better corn prices, growers are hopeful for a good year. Plenty of side-dressing has been happening in fields this week along with the second corn herbicide pass. John Allen, retail sales manager for Brandt Consolidated, says it is all about taking opportunities to produce extra bushels – especially in these times.

“I think when we look around to other parts of the Midwest, we are pretty fortunate,” Allen said.

There are still soybeans left to plant here in Illinois and Allen hopes everyone remains safe.

“Continue to practice slowing down and be safe. Let’s get this crop put to bed and move to better things.”
