FFA'ers prepare for convention
STANFORD – Like other chapters throughout Central Illinois, members of the Olympia High School FFA are looking forward to next week’s National FFA Convention.
“We’ll get to attend workshops, different sessions hosted by National FFA officers and get to grow together as a chapter,” said Olympia FFA President Molly Schempp.
FFA member Lane Schweigert enjoys networking with other FFA members.
“It’s a really good experience to go and meet new people,” Schweigert said.
Schempp is excited to be president this year, saying she works with a great officer team at Olympia. The local FFA has been busy feeding farmers at elevators in the school district and serving pork chops during Friday night football games. Upcoming activities include a Christmas alumni meeting and the “pack the place” auction in February.
We caught up with the Olympia FFA members during last Friday’s football game in Stanford which was the CIFN Sports Central Game of the Week.
