SPORTS CENTRAL: Pontiac defeats PC
FAIRBURY – Pontiac put a damper on Prairie Central’s homecoming game Friday night by defeating the Hawks 36-30 in front of a big crowd at Lewis Field.
The Indians move to 4-0 on the season and P.C. suffered its first loss moving to 3-1. Pontiac’s win could put them on track to a playoff berth or even a possible Illini Prairie Conference championship in a matter of weeks.
Pontiac quarterback Ben Schuler had a big night with a couple of big plays down the stretch. For Prairie Central, Steidinger and Palmore each had a big night.
“Pontiac had just enough defensive stops to come away with a road victory,” said CIFN Sports Central announcer Eric Stock who called the game action on Facebook.
CIFN Sports Central travels to Dwight next Friday night as they take on Watseka. We will be chatting with members of the Dwight ag program and FFA during the pre-game broadcast around 6:15 p.m. with kickoff at 7.
