Good time to scout fields

As we experience more hot weather here in Central Illinois, now is a good time to scout those fields.

Yale Young with Brandt Consolidated says fungicide application is not only to help prevent disease but to maintain plant health as well.

“With these high temperatures and warm nights, we are definitely going to see some respiration going on,” Young explained.

According to Young, a fungicide application helps corn get through this stressful period. An application can be especially beneficial if there is a good plant stand in the field.
