The National Weather Service outlook from Oct. 11-17 calls for above normal temperatures just about everywhere in the United States.

With the exception of the Pacific Northwest, we can expect below normal rainfall across a large area.

“This forecast of warmer and drier weather is just what a lot of farmers are going to need, especially in the Midwest,” said USDA meteorologist Brad Rippey in his weekly weather outlook.

Farmers should make adequate progress with fieldwork during this time. Nationally, drier conditions along the southeastern coast from Georgia to the Carolinas will help in the recovery efforts in the wake of Hurricane Matthew.
