Trump signs relief bill
President Trump has signed the most recent coronavirus relief bill.
The bill which was signed Sunday night provides $600 per person but the president wants $2,000 per person and an additional $600 per child. The Republican-led Senate is expected to begin the process to vote on increased stimulus checks, although it is not guaranteed to pass. House members will vote on the measure today.
Trump initially hesitated to sign the bill due to the amount in the stimulus checks. This relief package also restores extended unemployment benefits, dedicates money to assist with distribution of coronavirus vaccines and provides assistance for businesses.
